Dubai's 30-Day nol Travel Pass Can Save You AED 250 — Plus 3,000 nol Plus Points If You Upgrade Before 26 June 2026

If your Dubai routine involves tapping a Silver nol card twice a day — Metro to the office, bus home, maybe a tram hop on Friday — you are probably leaving money on the platform. The RTA's 30-day unlimited travel pass can save up to AED 250 compared with pay-as-you-go fares, and between 26 May and 26 June 2026 the authority is sweetening the deal with up to 3,000 nol Plus reward points when you upgrade.
Emirates 24|7 broke down the promo on 26 May 2026 — and for commuters who have been top-up-by-top-up since Ramadan traffic eased, this is the summer switch worth doing before June payroll lands. The pass loads onto your existing personalised Silver, Gold, or Blue nol card and covers unlimited trips across your chosen zones for 30 consecutive days on Metro, tram, and RTA buses.
What the 30-day unlimited pass includes
Dubai's public transport map splits into seven zones. You buy a pass for one zone, two adjacent zones, or all zones — then ride as much as you want inside that footprint for 30 days. Official RTA pricing (2026) puts a Silver card all-zones monthly pass at AED 350, with Gold card all-zones at AED 700 and concession Blue cards (students, seniors, People of Determination) at AED 175. One-zone Silver passes start at AED 140 — enough for residents whose home and office sit inside the same zone bubble.

Where the AED 250 saving comes from
Pay-as-you-go Metro trips typically run AED 5–8 each way depending on zones crossed. Twenty workday return trips alone can exceed AED 200 before you count weekend errands, Mall of the Emirates detours, or tram hops along JBR. Emirates 24|7 frames the 30-day pass as the RTA's summer focus because seven-day, 90-day, and 365-day options exist — but monthly is the sweet spot for residents testing the switch during the May–June promo window.
Promo window — Upgrade to a 30-day pass between 26 May and 26 June 2026 to earn up to 3,000 nol Plus points.
Silver all-zones — AED 350/month — best default for cross-city commuters (Marina ↔ Deira ↔ DXB runs).
Two-zone Silver — AED 230/month — strong value if you live and work in adjacent zones only.
Who skips it — Occasional riders (<12 trips/month) — stick with pay-as-you-go or a 7-day pass for visitors.
I switched to all-zones Silver during a previous summer promo and stopped mentally calculating whether a Friday brunch detour 'was worth the extra zone' — that mental tax alone paid for the pass.
How to buy or load the pass
Purchase through the nol Pay app, RTA website, metro ticket vending machines, or ticket offices. You need a personalised card — anonymous Red tickets cannot hold monthly passes. If you do not have one, order via rta.ae or activate at a metro station before loading the pass.

Choosing the right zone package
Map your last two weeks of trips honestly. If every journey stays within Marina–JLT–DMCC, a one- or two-zone pass saves more than all-zones. If you regularly cross Sheikh Zayed Road for client meetings, school runs in another emirate pocket, or DXB shift work, all-zones prevents surprise top-ups. Students and seniors on Blue cards should always check concession pricing first — the all-zones AED 175 rate is half the Silver price.

Why June 2026 is the moment to switch
June brings overlapping rule changes — Salik VAT, cashless parking meters, and payroll timing shifts — that make predictable transport spending more valuable. Our Dubai cashless strategy guide covers wallet apps; this pass covers the rides between them. Travelling for Eid? See our DXB busiest travel day guide for airport timing — the pass does not cover airport express premium cabins.

Pair it with…

Who should switch — and who should stay on top-up
Switch if you ride at least 40 single trips a month across zones — the maths favours you by week three. Stay on pay-as-you-go if you WFH three days a week and only commute twice. Tourists visiting under ten days should buy a 7-day pass (AED 110 Silver) instead of committing to 30 days. Gold card holders pay double but get Gold Class cabins — worth it only if you actually use Gold Class doors daily.
2026 price snapshot (verify before buying)
Silver 30-day passes: one zone AED 140, two zones AED 230, all zones AED 350. Gold doubles each tier. Concession Blue cards halve Silver pricing. Full tables live on rta.ae — figures date-stamped May 2026 and can change with budget announcements.
Load passes at Google Maps: DMCC Metro Station vending machines before peak morning queues, or use the nol Pay app overnight when servers are quiet. For salary timing alongside June WPS rules, see our UAE salary deadline guide — transport and payroll changes land the same week.
