Eid Mubarak, Dubai! Eid Al Adha 2026 is officially here, and the UAE is pulling out all the stops to make it one to remember. The public holiday runs from Wednesday, May 27 through Friday, May 29—giving you a glorious three-day long weekend to celebrate, explore, and unwind. Whether you're hitting the parks with the family, planning a beach day, or heading to Abu Dhabi for a cultural tour of the stunning Grand Mosque, I have rounded up everything you need to make the most of it.
Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque: A Magnificent Eid Cultural Tour
If there is one place that captures the spiritual beauty of Eid, it is the magnificent Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque (website | Instagram) in Abu Dhabi. The Mosque has launched a special Eid programme featuring guided cultural tours, the highly anticipated Sura Night Tours, and the Light & Peace Museum. The Eid Takbeerat echo through the marble halls, creating a deeply moving atmosphere.
The adjacent Souq Al Jami (website) is open daily from 9:00 AM to 11:00 PM, hosting over 68 dining and retail brands, live entertainment, and children's programmes. It is the perfect cultural day out for families.

Free Ice Cream & Extended Park Hours (May 27–28, 4–7 PM)
To celebrate the occasion, Dubai Municipality is running a sweet 'Eid Gifts' initiative, distributing complimentary ice cream from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM on May 27 and 28. Head to any of the city's major parks to catch the distribution. Five beautiful green spaces are participating:
1. Al Barsha Pond Park (website) — excellent for lakeside walks and running tracks. 2. Al Safa Park (website) — a classic green sanctuary in the heart of the city. 3. Creek Park (website) — featuring extensive views of the historic creek. 4. Mushrif Park (website) — renowned for its cycling routes and forest trees. 5. Zabeel Park (website) — home to massive lawns and the famous Dubai Frame.
All municipal parks have extended their opening hours from 8:00 AM to midnight daily during the Eid holiday, allowing plenty of time to enjoy the cooler evening hours.
Live Entertainment: From Dubai Frame to City Walk
Live music, traditional folk dances, and kid-friendly theatrical shows are taking over key destinations:
• Dubai Frame (website | Instagram) — Catch live traditional band performances between 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM on May 27 and 28. • City Walk (website | Instagram) — Enjoy elegant solo pianist performances on Eid evening and vibrant Al Ayyala folk dancers on day two. • Children's City (website) in Creek Park — Running theatrical productions, educational workshops, and interactive family activities across all three days of Eid. • Hatta Market (website) — The Al Harbiya band will perform historic heritage shows on May 28 from 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM.

Family Beaches & Seaside Relaxation
If you want to feel the sea breeze, Dubai has designated several public beaches as family-only zones to ensure a comfortable and relaxed beach day. Jumeirah 1, 2, and 3 beaches (including the designated night swimming beaches), Umm Suqeim 1 and 2, and the lovely Al Mamzar Beach Park (website) are open, with lifeguards on duty and excellent family amenities.

Eid Dining: Curated Menus & Tapas Breakfasts
No Eid celebration is complete without sharing a soulful meal. Two dining destinations stand out for this festive weekend:
🥣 Asma (website | Instagram) at The Dubai Mall — Hosting a spectacular tapas-style Middle Eastern breakfast. Think warm artisanal breads, creamy labneh, fresh ful medames, and perfectly spiced eggs. It's the ultimate way to start your holiday morning. 🍱 Shanghai Me (website | Instagram) in DIFC — Running their celebrated Maneki Brunch on Friday and Saturday, blending high-end Pan-Asian sharing plates with a chic, foliage-draped indoor terrace. Be sure to book ahead.

Mall Events & Kid-Friendly Parades
For the little ones, Dubai Festival City Mall (website | Instagram) is hosting hourly character parades with lively music and dancing from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM between May 29 and 31. Retailers are also running special promotions, making it a great time to combine family fun with retail bargains.
RTA Transport Timings & Parking Details
To accommodate the festive traffic, the RTA has extended the Dubai Metro and Tram services throughout the long weekend. Most public parking spaces in Dubai are free during the public holiday (excluding multi-storey parking facilities). Check the official RTA channels before you head out to confirm timings and any temporary route adjustments.
A personal note: Eid Al Adha is one of my absolute favourite seasons in the UAE. Walking through Zabeel or Creek Park, seeing families dressed in their finest outfits sharing sweets, and listening to the beautiful Takbeerat broadcast from the neighborhood mosques—it represents the true community heart of Dubai. Wishing you and your families a safe, peaceful, and joyful Eid Al Adha!
