Dubai Summer Surprises 2026: Dates, the Big Sales and How to Win the Summer

Yes, it's hot. No, that's not a reason to stay home. Every summer Dubai answers the heat with its biggest shopping-and-fun festival of the year — Dubai Summer Surprises — and the 2026 edition opens on Wednesday 2 July, less than four weeks away. The full 60-day programme is confirmed: city-wide sales, the Dhs10 dining deal, Modesh World at the DWTC, and Beat the Heat DXB concerts through 30 August. Here is everything you need to plan your summer.
Here's exactly when DSS runs, what the sales actually look like, and how I plan my summer around it so the kids are entertained, the wardrobe gets refreshed, and the credit card survives.
The warm-up: 3-Day Super Sale (now concluded)
From Tuesday 26 to Thursday 28 May 2026, Dubai's 3-Day Super Sale delivered up to 90% off across roughly 1,500 outlets — a city-wide flash sale organised by Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE), timed for the Eid Al Adha break. Almost every major mall participated:
The Dubai Mall, Mall of the Emirates, Dubai Hills Mall, Ibn Battuta, Nakheel Mall, Mercato and the City Centre malls. Doors stayed open late — shops until 11pm, dining until midnight. The next big sale window is now DSS itself, starting 2 July.
The Super Sale proved there's appetite. DSS 2026 takes that energy and runs with it for 59 days straight.
When is Dubai Summer Surprises 2026?
DSS 2026 runs from Wednesday 2 July to Sunday 30 August — a full 60 days. That's nearly two months of city-wide promotions, raffles, entertainment and hotel deals, timed perfectly for the school holidays when families are looking for things to do indoors.
The three phases of the sale
DSS isn't one flat sale; it rolls through distinct phases, so it pays to know what's on when:
Summer Holiday Offers — the opening wave in early-to-mid July, with family-friendly promotions across the major malls and hotels.
The Great Dubai Summer Sale — the mid-festival peak, traditionally the best window for serious value across fashion, electronics and home. This is when the bigger discounts land.
Back to School — the closing phase from mid-August to 30 August, focused on uniforms, stationery, laptops and everything for the new term.

The Dhs10 dining deal is back for DSS 2026
One of the most popular DSS features returns for 2026: the Dhs10 dish deal at participating restaurants across Dubai's malls and dining districts. Hundreds of restaurants offer a signature dish for just 10 dirhams — everything from biryani to burgers to pasta. It runs for the full duration of DSS (2 July to 30 August).

Family HQ: Modesh World at Dubai World Trade Centre
The undisputed family headliner of DSS is Modesh World, the giant indoor entertainment complex that takes over the Dubai World Trade Centre — rides, carnival games, live shows and interactive zones, all under blissful air-conditioning. It's the kind of place you drop the kids off for the afternoon and they come back exhausted in the best possible way. Pair it with a visit to Dubai Aquarium & Underwater Zoo and Ski Dubai and you have a full-day itinerary that the whole family won't stop talking about.
Live entertainment: Beat the Heat DXB concerts
DSS 2026 also brings back the Beat the Heat DXB concert series at the Dubai World Trade Centre — a run of live shows across July and August that give the summer evenings a proper buzz. Past editions have pulled acts across pop, Bollywood and international genres. How to actually win the summer
A few things I always do: shop the Great Dubai Summer Sale window for the big-ticket items, book a staycation (summer is when Dubai hotels drop their best resident rates), and stack mall promotions with loyalty rewards and raffles — past editions have given away millions of dirhams in prizes across thousands of participating outlets.
Time your big purchases — wait for the Great Dubai Summer Sale peak (mid-July) for fashion, electronics and home.
Eat for Dhs10 — the dining deal runs the full 59 days across hundreds of restaurants. Lunch sorted.
Book a staycation mid-week — DSS hotel deals are real; Tuesday to Thursday rates are especially competitive.
Plan Back to School early — the August phase has the best stationery and uniform deals; don't leave it to the last week.
