Dubai is about to make the flying taxi feel normal. The city is set to be the first in the world with a commercial electric air-taxi network — and you can already see the aircraft up close. Here's what's coming, and how it'll change a trip across town.
See the future at the Museum of the Future

A prototype of the Joby S4 air taxi — built by Joby Aviation with the RTA — is on display on the Tomorrow, Today floor at the Museum of the Future (map). It's a centrepiece of Dubai's plan to reinvent how the city moves.
12 minutes, airport to Palm

The first routes will connect Dubai International Airport, Downtown Dubai, Dubai Marina and Palm Jumeirah, with vertiports planned at the American University of Dubai, Atlantis The Royal and Dubai Mall. The headline number: airport to Palm Jumeirah in about 12 minutes, versus a 45-minute drive.
How it works

The Joby S4 is fully electric with zero harmful emissions: six rotors, four battery packs, room for four passengers plus a pilot, a range of 161 km and a top speed of 322 km/h. Service is slated to begin in the first quarter of 2026 — making Dubai the first city in the world to launch.
